Born in Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture.
Later raised in Gujo City, Gifu Prefecture — his father’s hometown.

Began studying under ink painter Shukou Tsuchiya.

• Selected for the National Ink Painting Exhibition at the National Art Center, Tokyo.

• Performed a live ink painting at the Rikuzentakata Industrial Festival in Iwate Prefecture.

• Participated in Modern Suibokugakai “Bokusenkai” 1st Group Exhibition at Shimokita Art Space, Tokyo.

​

A one-year artistic pilgrimage through Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas —
creating live ink paintings and engaging in cross-cultural exchanges inspired by Zen and Buddhist philosophy.

 

Taiwan

• Live painting at the plaza in front of TAIPEI 101 Tower.

• Live performance at Yo Gallery, Taipei.

• Live painting at Taiwan–Japan Exchange Bar Kiseki, Taipei.

 

Thailand

• Live painting on Khao San Road, Bangkok.

• Demonstration and street exhibition in front of the Bangkok Art & Culture Center.

 

Laos

• Conducted an art exchange and live painting with children at an orphanage in Luang Prabang.

 

China (Yunnan Province and Guangxi)

• Live painting at Kunming City Square.

• Visited Dali City, known for its mural and ink art culture.

• Exchanged ink paintings with youth at Shuhe Ancient Town, Lijiang.

• Studied Thangka (Tibetan Buddhist painting) and Buddhist philosophy at the Academy of Tibetan Buddhist Painting, Shangri-La.

• Visited sacred sites such as Meili Snow Mountain, “God’s Waterfall,” and “God’s Fountain.”

• Engaged with the 2013 Thangka Painting Champion at Larung Gar Gompa, Kham Region.

• Visited Guilin, famous for its landscape resembling traditional ink paintings, and painted with locals.

 

Macau

• Live painting in front of Grand Lisboa Casino.

 

India

• Visited Leh, in the Himalayan region of Jammu and Kashmir — exploring Buddhist ruins and Tibetan culture.

• Live painting in front of Vashist Bath, Manali.

• Met His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama at Dharamshala, followed by a live ink painting performance in front of the main temple.

 

Turkey

• Live painting at Blue Mosque Square, Istanbul.

 

Morocco

• Live painting at the main gate of the Old City of Fez.

 

Israel

• Visited Jerusalem and the Palestinian territories, viewing works by Banksy.

• During local unrest near the Mount of Olives, was exposed to tear gas and minor injury; hospitalized, then resumed painting the next day at Damascus Gate, Jerusalem.

 

Cuba

• Art exchange with local artists in Havana.

• Met Eliades Ochoa (Buena Vista Social Club guitarist) in Santiago de Cuba and attended his live performance.

• Live painting in front of Che Guevara’s Mausoleum, Santa Clara.

 

Mexico

• Created a mural at Guest House Casa Casa, San Cristóbal de las Casas.

 

United States

• Live painting at 34th Street–Penn Station, New York City.

 

 

2015

• Participated in Suibokugakai Namboku Representative Artists Exhibition at Tokyo Kotsu Kaikan Gallery, Yurakucho.

• Solo exhibition “SAME SAME BUT DIFFERENT” at Bar UNION, Ebisu.

• Participated in Bokusenkai 3rd Group Exhibition at Musashi Gallery, Shimokitazawa.

• Conducted workshops and live painting at Futako Tamagawa Art Depot as a Bokusenkai Instructor.

 

2016

• Participated in LOVE FOR NIPPON project organized by Candle JUNE at Channel Square, Fukushima – conducting workshops for children affected by the 2011 disaster.

• Exhibited at SEN Art & Creative Consulting Kick-off Exhibition, Courtyard Hiroo Gallery.

• Participated in Fuji Rock Festival 2016, Eco Station art project (by NPO iPledge).

• Live painting and workshops at Futako Tamagawa Biennale as part of the Bokusenkai Instructor Team.

• Directed the design and art production for the Societe Generale Securities sake lounge at the Rugby World Cup 2019, Nissan Stadium.

• Designed packaging for SAKE MARIA, a sake & chocolate collaboration by Sils Maria Co., Ltd.

• Conducted workshops for international students as part of the GLOBAL BLUE HANDS PROJECT at Yugyo-ji Temple, Fujisawa (collaboration with Bunkyo University & Fujisawa City).

• Created a collaborative wall mural at Matsushigate Cultural Hub, Tokushima Prefecture.

• Participated in Tsuchiya School Joint Exhibition at Nine Gallery, Aoyama, Tokyo.

• Participated in “YU-SUZUMI – Contemporary Artist Collaboration Lanterns” at Fukuoka PARCO.
